What’s the Lamborghini Urus like to drive?

You sit high like an SUV, but nothing else about it behaves like one — and in traffic it is genuinely easy.

The driving position is the first surprise. You sit SUV-high with a clear view over traffic, which makes it the least intimidating car of its kind to thread through the city. Through the Yarra Valley it is faster point to point than the Huracán, because all-wheel drive and that flood of mid-range torque let you use the throttle everywhere rather than saving it for the straights. The carbon-ceramic brakes shrug off a full day of hard use, and crosswinds and patchy surfaces that would have a two-seater tiptoeing simply don’t register.

And while all of that is happening, four passengers are sitting in real comfort — rear seats adults can spend a day in, a boot that swallows their bags, cupholders, climate zones, the lot. No other car listed here lets you share the day this completely. That is the Urus trick: everyone comes along, and nobody has to be a good sport about it.
